Musical Inspiration

A list of the songs that inspired my current pilot: KNUCKLEHEAD

Getting closer to working on a detailed outline for my new musical drama pilot, KNUCKLEHEAD. I’ve never written a musical drama, so I really have no idea what I’m doing. But, I do know what songs have inspired me to write this script.

Without giving too much away in terms of the premise, KNUCKLEHEAD is a coming-of-age story about a group of teens who start a punk band, tour the midwest, and leave their trailer-park lives behind them.

So the list below is a source of inspiration - lyrically and tonally. Most are songs from when I was a teen wrecking the shit out of my neighborhood. A few songs I came across within the last few years, but they reflect the pathos and ethos of what this story is striving for.
