Hi, I’m Frank!
Welcome to my wild mind.
By day I work as an administrator at one of the largest charter schools in the country. I have over a decade of experience working in charter schools and education reform.
At night I write screenplays (features, pilots, specs) and short fiction. I used to act in plays in Chicago and Los Angeles. I still daydream about opening a repertory theatre company that produces reinterpretations of the classics alongside new plays.
My goal is to be able to support my family with my writing.
Oh, and it’s pronounced Tar-zin-skee. Rolls off the tongue.
Themes and topics I like to write about:
Through screenplays and fiction I like to write about father/son relationships, reinvention/transformation, identity, coming of age, and circle of life. I like to explore different genres and forms, challenging myself to be creative and vulnerable.
In my personal essays and long-form articles I like to explore education reform, teaching writing to high school students, the intersection of art and entrepreneurship, creativity and fear, literary theory & criticism.
Tell me a story, our reader says. Make me laugh, make me cry, carry me away.
